Security is an integral part of any form management solution. It's a particular concern when forms span dispersed business units or distributed work teams, and when private business is taking place over the public Internet.
Basic Internet protocols are not inherently secure. During transmissions across the Internet, as data is broken up into packets to travel independently across the best possible routes, it can easily be intercepted or altered. Other dangers include unauthorized individuals gaining access to systems and authorized individuals accessing information they are not cleared to see.
To prevent these and other costly security breaches, InfoPrise incorporates the following security measures.
Authentication
InfoPrise applications meet all authentication requirements through built-in capabilities, including client digital certificates, SSL smart token ID and usernames and passwords. Role-based access control and personalized views ensure that authenticated users see only the information they are permitted to see.
Encryption
InfoPrise applications use open Internet security standards, including 128-bit encryption and standard SSL.
Privacy
InfoPrise uses fine partitioning to enforce privacy at multiple levels. Privacy may be invoked through:
- Users (teams, groups, roles, organizations, individuals, etc.)
- Access privileges (read, write, edit, delete, etc.)
Trust
InfoPrise meets trust requirements through our use of digital certificates, SSL, fine security partitioning and role-based access control. All transactions are required to originate and terminate at trusted sources.
Data Integrity
InfoPrise uses open Internet standards to guarantee the integrity of data, content and messages during transmission and storage.
Asset Protection
InfoPrise includes built-in security that works with all firewalls and is also independent of them. InfoPrise tunnels through firewalls using standard ports (no additional ports need to be opened) in order to perform authentication and other security functions.
Files stored on InfoPrise are hashed to replace file names and types with number IDs. Thus in the unlikely event someone gains access to the server database, they will not be able to search for a specific file. In addition, data can be stored in the database in an encrypted format.
Nonrepudiation
InfoPrise maintains an audit trail of each and every transaction that takes place. The audit trail database can be mined by authorized parties to validate that a specific transaction took place.
